ACTC is a member of the Ontario Tennis Association (OTA), which oversees the Intercounty Leagues. Many members find competitive play a lot of fun and a great opportunity to challenge themselves.
Intercounty teams play for approximately 14 weeks, from mid-May until mid-August. Half of the games are played away; thus some travel is involved. Members of a team should be available to play for most of the matches. If you cannot commit to the whole season, but would like to participate, please do so, as we always need subs throughout the season.
If you have questions, please contact David Veitch at celtworks@gmail.com.
This year, we hope to field the following teams:
Majors - Matches Tuesday evening, practice Sunday morning
Mixed B - Matches Tuesday evening, practice Sunday morning
Ladies B (2 teams) - Matches Wednesday morning, practice Tuesday morning
55+ - Matches Thursday morning, practice Friday morning
You must be an ACTC member for the 2023 season to play on a team.

A SELECTION COMMITTEE is formed to evaluate and create a roster of players for each team. The committee may be composed of:
Selection Criteria:
We make every attempt to schedule rain-out games on times that don't disrupt member access.
Rain-out matches will be scheduled either on the weekend or every other Tuesday/Thursday evening. These matches are a priority and may bump members from open court play.
If Tuesday or Thursday night games are scheduled to play away, but at the last minute the team learns that the away tennis club has unplayable courts, they may choose to play their match at ACTC. Members must vacate the courts to let the Intercounty teams complete their matches.
